I got 4 of these chairs at a garage sale ($10 for all of them). They were not taken care of. The legs were popping out, and the finish was ruined. They were left out in the weather. I loved the carvings, and the style. Thanks to my father, I know when things are worth refinishing. And thanks to my father(who refinished these for me in days, and brought them all the way from Montana in the back of his car) I now have beautiful dinning room chairs.
